Today on a day observed by many Christians as the start of Lent — Ash Wednesday — a public statement addressing Christians in the US re: the Trump administration was issued by Christian leaders worldwide. It opens with the following statement:
"There are moments that call for repentance and resistance, courage and conviction, faith and fortitude. This is one of those moments.
The question is, what will we do now?"
"We are facing a cruel and oppressive government; citizens and immigrants being demonized, disappeared, and even killed; the erosion of hard-won rights and freedoms; and a calculated effort to reverse America’s growing racial and ethnic diversity– all of which are pushing us toward authoritarian and imperial rule."

There's a major outbreak of measles at the right-wing Catholic university in Florida, Ave Maria. Ave Maria is the love child of right-wing Catholic entrepreneur and pizza magnate of Domino's fame, Tom Monaghan.
As a right-wing Catholic outfit that's the personal plaything of a right-wing Catholic entrepreneur, Ave Maria is heavily invested in the "pro-life" movement. It sends a big contingent to the annual March for Life in DC — which just so happens to have been the venue in which measles infected Ave Maria students and other "pro-life" marchers.
