Good morning from Minneapolis, where the latest word I've seen is that the Whipple Building is empty of detainees and ICE agents number fewer than 500. But who knows for sure?

Angie Craig: “…we will take everything we're told with a grain of salt, and we will only believe things when we see them here as this operation winds down.”

All I know is that delivering boxes of food is a piece of cake, owing to the skills of the people organizing these mutual-aid food drops in our part of town. Truck drivers, pallet wranglers, box packers, route planners; they're all here.

Quite early Saturday morning it's 11℉; fair skies and barometer; light west-northwest winds; and visibility 10 miles at the airport.

Heading for a high near 22℉.

Keep an eye out. Take care. Have a good weekend. Hope for the best.

Your correspondent assisted spouse and friend Friday afternoon delivering boxes of food to several households in south Minneapolis. Photo of two of five boxes with staples and treats (cake and caramel rolls) in the back seat of the driver's car. This is one element of the neighborly "mutual aid" you read about during the ICE occupation of Minnesota.

It's ham radio volunteer testing Saturday in the southeast metro — and that means LP-sized pancakes at the North Pole restaurant in Newport, suburb of St. Paul.

Here's Pepper. His white-tipped tail might form a question mark, but he has all the answers.

Pepper, the black, tan, and white Australian kelpie we borrow from friends, trots across a field of fresh snow earlier this week.
