Hi, I honestly don't think it's very appropriate for me to discuss this publicly.
I have used a progressive discipline based approach with a focus on support and lots of discussion, however I cannot simply turn a blind eye and tolerate daily unsolicited messages.
If you want to support Omar, please help him learn other ways to use Mastodon.
@jmcnaughton @rififi54 @omarzeyada I agree with this – we will not be challenging it or defending any accounts legitimately limited or suspended due to spam-like behaviour. Furthermore, we will start removing verifications from a small group who are adamant in continuing to send unsolicited messages and are threatening to undo any progress we’ve made here in building mutual trust.
Please also realise that a very small number of people are making several thousand dollars a week using spam-like techniques while others from Gaza are not getting enough to live on while suffering the consequences of their actions.
We will be sending a message out to all Gaza Verified members, start removing a few verifications for the worst repeat offenders, and start enforcing our rules more strictly this week with the goal of protecting the mutual respect necessary to keep the fediverse a welcoming and safe space for Palestinians.

I had to mute the bot because I kept receiving the same message over and over again, each time with a different account tagged. And believe me, I'm patient. At least I usually am. And I care, I run several fundraisings for Palestinian people. I understand the difference a message can make to them. But still, my tolerance to spam is low
