The Uk probably needs to build more prisons, or rather build new prisons to replace old prisons built prior to, or in the 1800s, during the victorian era. If Prisons are there to incarcerate for life, which only happens in rare cases, then prisons are also there to rehabilitate people, surely this can't be effective in old, aging prisons that are not fit for 21st century incarceration.

There is no point in sending more people to prison if it is just a revolving door either.
