As I wrote before, I really have the impression the 150 palestinians registered with Gaza verified are friends with the same small group of donators. You need to find your own door to reach another group of people who knew nothing about the existence of the campaigns.

The sentence I cannot help everyone I am supporting several families is very common when asking for help It is painful to the point of death my entire city feels like everyone has become walking corpses

@angelteeth Thank you for your kindness. I have started to feel that this is truly painful. Were it not for the cruelty of what I am going through, I wouldn’t have asked anyone for help. Our lives have been destroyed. I no longer know the taste of sleep because of so many worries and my inability to manage my affairs. I was not like this before.
@nada_eid_88 Dear Nada, please don't worry. We don't see you as beggars. Some individual people do see you as beggars and perhaps even block you, but they are the ones who don't have empathy. Everyone who has empathy totally understands that everything was taken from you. We know that we would want to receive help if we were in your situation. There is no shame in asking for help when you are the victim of a genocide. We all understand. You aren't a burden. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Your situation is very hard. 😔 There are two million Palestinians. There aren't nearly as many people willing to help on Mastodon. Even if everyone of us supports five families, many families will hear the sentence you described. 😔 It's not fair. It's not what you deserve. 💔 But don't be afraid to ask for help. We will never consider you a burden, even if we don't have money to give to you.

I only created the link after my husband was seriously injured and we lost all our belongings. My husband lost everything—his company shares, his salary, and our home. The only thing that survived is my mobile phone, which is a burden on my heart because it contains photos showing the difference between our past life and what it has become now.
@nada_eid_88 I cannot remotely understand how it must feel to see the pictures of your past life and how it is now. 😔 Always to be reminded of what you lost. That must be so hard. 😭
@davidculley I hope no one ever feels what I feel. My husband was perfect, generous, and an incomparable father. He excelled in his work with his eyes, and now he has lost sight in one, and the other is deteriorating.
My home, my work—every picture burns the heart to the utmost. I feel deep sympathy for my children for having to endure this change. Imagine that your dream becomes simply to return to how things were, to have a home again.
@nada_eid_88 I have the impression the posts of palestinians on the fediverse are now in a loop, all shared by the same people, all seen by the same people. As far as I am concerned, I needed more than a year to make news friends on mastodon. The use of # in relation with my centers of interests is what helped. I know you are all exhausted, you just have survival in mind, and that's pretty normal, but I am convinced sharing also around things you like using # could help for new friendships and go out of the loop of people who are already giving money to several families.
@AnnaLion You’re right, but we are very restricted everywhere. Friendships are built through communication, where the other person understands your situation and your problems, and that is not easy for us. At the same time, we are restricted on most platforms.

I am not on the social media called upscrolled, I heard about it a few weeks ago. It was created by palestinians in Australia. It is very safe for you there. I know a lot of users are from Asia and arabic countries. Maybe it can be another option to look for donators ? I was told people from Gaza using upscrolled are feeling really safe there.
@AnnaLion I created an account there, and unfortunately, as you said, it takes time for everyone to understand your situation. I created the link late, and now everyone who donates already has enough families to support. I really feel a sense of collapse.

I myself donate to random families to give every Palestinian family the same chance.
The account @gaza_verified_campaigns informs us every 8 hours about which families have received the least during the past 7 days. You are included there. It's the same as https://gaza-verified.org/donate/.
Many people use that site to donate to the Palestinians who need it the most. Rather than donating always to the same Palestinian families. That way donations remain fair for all Palestinian families, even if they joined very recently and haven't formed friendships with donors.
