Thinking about the US/Israel strike on Iran that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei…
I'm not happy or sad that he is gone. From what I'm lead to understand, he was a rather sadistic dictator who denied due legal process and imposed crushing restrictions on the people of Iran.
No question there… but the approach taken to just blow him up in a military strike, is in itself, a denial of due legal process.
Saying "it's okay to deny due process because…" is a slippery slope, and one day, people who say this may find that a reason is given to deny *them* due process. If your thinking is, they just have to have reasonable grounds, then the people in power can simply "invent" such grounds, to have you jailed, or worse, executed.
The US has crossed a line here, once again, and I will not be celebrating their actions. Our prime minister should likewise, not be cheering from the sidelines.
