Please explain how oil prices surge, when the US has it's own Oil fields, and has just undertaken an agressive take over of Venuzuela for the purpose of getting access to the oil there.

The US does not need access to oil from the middle east, What these oil prices show is evidence that the oil companies want to keep global prices at a certain level, regardless of the supply chain.

Another reason to stop relying on oil for fuel.
