@Ruth_Mottram are you? If you were in van der Leyen’s seat, and knowing that resources are limited, would you indeed really prefer security, defense, and Ukraine over “climate, green transition and biodiversity” all the way, ignoring the whataboutists on those topics?

@Ruth_Mottram and I want the security measure useful in a conflict with Russia and not aimed at the poor souls trying ro find a better life elsewhere. Abolish Frontex!

@Ruth_Mottram Regarding climate, there’s good and bad in process:

Bad:
* Revision (i.e. loosening) of car CO2 emissions standard

Good:
* Grid package

Good and bad:
* Revision of ETS: Slower phase-out of free quotas and reaching zero ~5 years later (bad), support to get CDR started (good), extending aviation coverage a bit (good, but also bad, because even more was promised in current legislation)

Our so called leaders are leading us to ruin. The avoidance of climate change the steps we urgently need to avert catastrophe. Degrowth, and end to wars, a move to a more plant based diet. I despair
