I think it is detrimental to the foss ecosystem to allow state intervention, guidance, control or influence on something that by desing it is meant to have no borders, no nationalities, races, genders, ethnicities, and above all corporate fans.
Linus set a dangerous precedence to allow US boycott affect development, and defended his choice on pure nationalistic bias.
Now this, an EU attempt to make foss a tool, to set standards and guidelines.

@yianiris@kafeneio.social I think the current system of proprietary big tech is a larger issue at the moment. With EU funding open source it'll push it event faster than it has been going. They will have alternatives to the US big Tech and they can make their own rules for themselves. Every country should be focused here and we can all build off each other.
I do agree that the EU could so bad things. They exist to govern the EU people and their morales might not be mine. But more competition is better IMO. Open standars are better for everyone compared to what we currently face.
