Thank you @andypiper@macaw.social for the stickers that I FINALLY realized where in my PO Box from 6 months ago!

In lieu of today’s @firesidefedi episode, I give you a picture of my sick hat
(Sick because I’m wearing it while down bad with the FOSDEM flu, and because I think the hat is pretty neat!)
See you next week, friends! and thank you for the well wishes 💞
@haubles@hachyderm.io I hate to tell you, but I your hat is NOT a croissant. It's a hat. Or is that the hat's name?

Thank you so much again goes out to @lefractal@mstdn.social ! Le Fractal donated to BT Free during our livestream yesterday when we were streaming on #Owncast, stream.ozoned.net.
Le Fractal is the creator of smol.stream . Smol Stream handles the #emojiwall I use on our #livestream.
A new version 2 beta is currently being tested. This includes both emojiwall and a chatoverly at beta.smol.stream .
Thank you so much Le Fractal for not only supporting us, but supporting the #Fediverse.

Today's episode of Fireside Fedi with @haubles@hachyderm.io has to be reschedule. Hannah is under the weather from FOSDEM. Everyone please flood Hannah with all of your positive energy to help her recover as quickly as possible.
<3 Get Well Soon Hannah!

Was anyone aware that OBS now offers "Enhanced Broadcasting" aka Multritrack Video? This offloads video transcoding to the person that is streaming their content and off of the servers themselves.
This is the single biggest cost of hosting a livestreaming server. If users are willing to use what's in their system we can make the bar to entry incredibly low.

@zotheca@mementomori.social I run TubeFree.org and put my Fireside Fedi VODs up there as well have having other folks put their content there. I haven't had too many issues. But it's a very difficult problem as it's not just Peertube itself, but I've had to help troubleshoot ISP blocks, Web browser issues, etc.
Does #FOSDEM have a #Peertube instance?
I know I can watch the videos here: video.fosdem.org/
Just didn't know if they had videos accessible on the Fediverse.
If they don't have a Peertube, is anyone thinking about, and allowed to, post these on a Peertube instance?

@ozoned Late addendum to your question (sorry took a while for this constellation to align :)): "If #faircamp and #bandwagon had a fight to the death ..." ... they wouldn't!! 😉 Greetings from FOSDEM!
@freebliss@post.lurk.org OR! maybe you BOTH won? And because you folks are building these things, we ALL WIN! <3 Envious I couldn't be there. Keep up the amazing work. Same goes to @benpate@mastodon.social !
@philsawa@ioc.exchange But sir! We've never gone that fast! I'm not sure if Loops can take it! 😊
@andypiper@macaw.social just said at #FOSDEM that 2 years ago Mastodon had a booth. Last year Fediverse had half a day. This year, there's a FULL TRACK of #fediverse !
THAT is growth! That is EXCITEMENT! That is people spreading this thing. Keep up the amazing work ALL of you!
ALL OF US MAKE THIS WORK!
And I am so grateful to you for it.

Currently watching #FOSDEM #openSocialWeb track. This is about the #fediverse and all kinds of different projects people are working on. EVERYONE has a role in this. If you are enjoying the fediverse, YOU MATTER. Find a way for you to help this community. As @samvie@chaos.social just said, we just need more shoulders! Everyone doing whatever they can. Something as simple as talking to someone.
Check out FOSDEM presentations:

@ozoned Ah, did the Germans invade Belgium (again 😉 ) this morning? I was not aware.
@Lgo@hostux.social thank you for the correction. IDK why I even thought Germany. I saw on FOSDEM is said Brussels Belgium.
@brunogirin @ozoned In fact, Belgium is in Berlin.
@duxsco@fedifreu.de @brunogirin@mastodon.me.uk but isn't Berlin in the Bronx?
@ozoned Brussels is in Belgium though, not Germany.
@brunogirin@mastodon.me.uk thank you for the correction. IDK why I even thought Germany. I saw on FOSDEM is said Brussels Belgium.
Those who are unaware there's a large convention this weekend in Brussel Germany called FOSDEM. Tons of brilliant folks are going to be there if you want to learn more about the Open Social Web or free/open software.
If you, like me, are interested in following the fediverse presentations, from the comfort of your own home, you can see the track here: fosdem.org/2026/schedule/tra...
EDIT: Brussels is in #BELGIUM . Not GERMANY. Thank you all for correcting me. :) Leaving my original toot to show I'm human and I err.

@ozoned here's one I think you might appreciate
@darkwolf@hear-me.social Nice. I liked it. 😊 And glad that @megaultrastudios@indieweb.social found a Peertube home. I know they requested one on TubeFree, but see they landed at MakerTube. 😊 Awesome place.

@firesidefedi Is there an issue with episode 64? It will not play for me.
@gnilleps@mastodon.art Yes there appears to be an issue with that episode for some reason. Taking a look at it. I don't think I have the original files anymore so sadly it might be caput. So I might have to just have another talk with Jo in the future. 😊

Just wanted yo give folks a heads up that @scottjenson@social.coop and my discussion got cut off earlier due to technical issues. We're going to reschedule for the future.
