Since #Mozilla is determined to shoot itself in the foot (see https://www.mozilla.ai), I decided to switch from Firefox to the privacy-first fork, #Waterfox, as my main browser.
The transition was super easy (Mozilla sync works with it!) and I am surprised by how responsive websites feel again! 馃く

Wild to think just a couple of years ago, #mozilla was a relative pioneer in moving a major brand to their own #mastodon instance.
They have since shut down nearly everything except Firefox itself, and their AI garbage has driven me to switch to #Waterfox on all my devices, as I see nothing good coming from the company in the near future. I hope I am wrong, but the CEO would have to leave first.

AI Controls (formerly 'kill switch') are landing in today's Firefox Nightly, and will land with Firefox 148 later this month.

@firefoxwebdevs Make it an extension that I can ignore. Until then, I'm sticking with #Waterfox.
