‘A Tedious, Tiresome Performance’ — #Trump’s #SOTU

There are just too many bad moments to choose from. Was the worst one of the many instances where he gave lurid descriptions of pain & suffering? Was it when he began to hand out awards like reality TV prizes? Or was it when he tried to write Democrats out of the political community? If I have to choose, I’d say the braying #racism against #Somali Americans—it would not have been out of place in a DW Griffith film.

The #xenophobia. The scaremongering. The #lying. The name-calling. The pettiness. But worst was his ongoing mission to destroy faith in the electoral process. “Cheating is rampant.” The Dems “want to cheat. They have cheated.” It’s the “only way they can get elected.” Heavy sigh.

here’s the article that broke the story of Tony Attwood and his failure to diagnose his own son, and eventually, himself:

❝ Why the world expert on Asperger's took 30 years to notice condition in his own son | Autism | The Guardian - https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/sep/25/why-the-world-expert-on-aspergers-took-30-years-to-notice-condition-in-his-own-son

what the writer of the article fails to address is how white supremacy, classism and patriarchalism all played a part in his failure to father his own son ―because that’s not what real men are supposed to do with their adult sons.

PS:

i still contend that #racism #misogyny #classism #xenophobia are the reasons why i didn't get diagnosed as autistic until the age of 50.

do you know what is the average life expectancy of Black autistic people? 52.

fuckall with using disability to defend anti-Black violence.
