How can we have #DigitalSovereignty without digital literacy, specially when elected officials orbit every subject without really engaging with it?
#Europe is positioned to favour the #openweb as a common ground for applications to flourish. More apps need to work everywhere and do all we need in our browsers.
Regulation that opens up Apple or Google platforms needs to be followed with business and infrastructure to take advantage of these opportunities.
In #Portugal, since we're more permeable to English than other countries, we have a small minority that's very aware of the #OpenSource ethos and the latest tech innovations in general.
But our governments remain fascinated with the microsofts, the googles and their quick easy solutions that spend public money in private platforms. They even describe open source as a weakness.
Maybe the #EU can offer digital rights bootcamps for politicians entranced by these centralised powers.
Time to recommend stuff to watch instead of #EuroVision that's starting this weekend at least in #Portugal

Portugal tops the EU leaderboard as over 80% of electricity in January came from renewables.
According to the Portuguese Association for Renewable Energies, 80.7% of electricity generated in January 2026 came from renewable energy, largely led by hydro and wind power.
It marks the best record in nine months and bumps the country up to second in Europe overall, after non-EU Norway with 96.3%.

In #Portugal, and several other European countries, new laws are in the making to implement age verification on the internet. On the discussions about it, the topic of EU Digital Identity Wallet, and its age verification scheme, comes up. But the knowledge about it is very low, causing unnecessary and repetitive discussions, noise that prevents more useful discussions.
My question is: do you know (and can you share) good resources about how EUDI - and its age verification - works? Non-tech articles, images, graphics, workflows, videos, anything you think might be helpful, please share in a comment below.
