A munka a biológia, a rendszerelmélet, az információelmélet és a fenomenológia határterületén helyezkedik el. A tanulmány kiindulópontja egy alapvető nagyságrendi paradoxon: míg egy ember teljes élettartamára vetített kumulatív anyag- és energiaforgalma nagyságrendileg 10⁷ kg, addig a földi bioszféra globális anyagciklusai elérik a 10¹⁹ kg nagyságrendet. Ez a mintegy 12 nagyságrendnyi különbség ontológiai kérdéseket vet fel az egyéni létezés jelentőségéről, koherenciájáról és rendszerbeli szerepéről. E feszültség kezelésére a monográfia egy hatrétegű ontológiai modellt (B–A–C–D–E–F) vezet be, amely az életet az anyagi beágyazottságtól a kozmikus léptékig egységes struktúrában írja le: B – Anyagi beágyazottság (nyílt termodinamikai rendszer), A – Információs stabilitás (biológiai és öröklött mintázatok), C – Fenomenális emergencia (tudat és diszkontinuitás-kezelés), D – Transzindividuális kontinuum (kollektív emberi és mesterséges intelligencia), E – Temporális aszimmetria (időirány, felelősség), F – Kozmikus keret (az élet univerzális beágyazottsága). A munka központi tézise szerint az ember nem izolált entitás, hanem egy több milliárd éves kozmikus és biológiai folyamat lokálisan koherens fókuszpontja, ahol anyag, információ és tudat találkozik. Az ontológiai jelentőség nem tömegarányos, hanem a fenntartott szerveződési mintázatok komplexitásából fakad. A monográfia egy empirikusan tesztelhető kutatási irányt is kijelöl a SZAP (Systemic Awareness Pilot) protokoll formájában, amely nemlineáris idősorelemzések (pl. EEG-, HRV- és véletlenszám-generátor-adatok) segítségével vizsgálja, hogy az aktív és passzív tudati állapotok eltérő kauzális struktúrákat mutatnak-e.
