Around eighteen months after starting, my wife's completed the second of her king cards cross stitches, the King of Hearts. Like the first one this one is about 110,000 stitches. Two to go.

A completed cross stitch is laid out on a flat surface. It's about 40 centimetres wide and 60 centimetres high and it depicts a stylistic King of Hearts playing card. The pale-faced king looks straight at us and has a tall red hat on with matching jacket sporting flared shoulders and a sash across the front, all lined with gold. It's the sort of outfit that wouldn't look out of place at a Venetian masquerade ball. The background of the playing card is a pale, diamond-tiled pattern with geometric decorations within.
