Not a bad morning of stitching, working in big chunks of one colour means quicker stitching. Lots of gaps for metallic threads, but I can't be bothered dealing with that today. So the stitching is away, breakfast has been had, now its time for gaming.

Cross stitch photo. In the centre of the murky blue fabric, Olive the forest witch stands tall. Her long dress is taking shape now, it is rich in olive green, brighter greens, and different shades of brown. I imagine she is standing with her hips angled, and one leg crossing over the other, as if about to step deeper into the forest. Her arms are held out at either side of her body, a red shawl is draped around her back and over both arms.

Around eighteen months after starting, my wife's completed the second of her king cards cross stitches, the King of Hearts. Like the first one this one is about 110,000 stitches. Two to go.

Looks a bit like Star Trek's Q to us.

The pale-faced king looks straight at us and has a tall red hat on with matching jacket sporting flared shoulders and a sash across the front, all lined with gold. It's the sort of outfit that wouldn't look out of place at a Venetian masquerade ball. The background of the playing card is a pale, diamond-tiled pattern with geometric decorations within.
