I don't feel the EU is up for a good time in the foreseeable future.
I'd love to see an argument where the project doesn't get squashed through the combo of global authoritarian pressures and a fucking lack of courage and leadership from the EU but.. can't really find one these days.

Follow up now that Davos wrapped up - it seems clear that the EU and others (Canada) have come to the realization that there is no appeasement, no going back to how things were.
The way forward is through new alliances and a reconfiguration of the previous order.
The first step to solving a problem is to acknowledge it.
