Not so happy. Financially, 2025 was probably the worst year I had since I started translating for a living. I lost most of my long time clients - retirement, sickness etc. - and new ones are hard to find.
So I am on self promotion now - anyone here who wants his English book translated into German? No option for you? Talk to me. Most of my authors are glad for the additional income.

People, I have no words. Never until now one of my postings got this number of reactions - nearly 500 boosts till now, plus 148 stars. Considering I have now 288 followers it is a proof of what hashtags and boosts can achieve in the #Fediverse

This did not come overnight. Since January we have been watching our expenses and trying to cut down. We don't waste, we live simply. One of the things I cannot cut down are the expenses for our cats - we had a bad year with a lot of bills from the vet, alas - we already buy food and litter in bulk on offers. Getting rid of some is no option - no takers, and Amman has no shelter or any such place.
Currently we do have too many - because of a bunch of orphans (4, no pic of Benny):
