Imo the most likely scenario will be a 2 frontier war for Europe, alliances: UK +USA +RUS +CHN, Europe united sans UK, +JPN +CAN, QAT +UAE finacing USA, ALB +AZE +MEX +VEN carefully supporting EU, devastating losses, Europe wins, GRL +UKR freed, USA dismantled and controlled by CAN +EU +JPN, RUS ruined.

The only way it is going to affect Americans' thinking is if it directly affects their vacation plans. Canceling their fjord cruises or their backpacking across Europe would get their attention. If there is an invasion of Greenland, it should be met with a pan-European response.
