I wrote a book about the problems with bottled #water ("Bottled and Sold") several years ago. Here's just another reason to avoid it.

WIRED

People Who Drink Bottled Water on a Daily Basis Ingest 90,000 More Microplastic Particles Each Year

Drinking water in plastic bottles contains countless particles too small to see. New research finds that people who drink water from them on a daily basis ingest far more microplastics than those who don’t.

@petergleick There are countries where bottled water is sold in returnable glass bottles.

@petergleick I bought a new filtered water device that removes medals and readds minerals. Going to put Celtic salt and organic baking soda to each cup first thing in morning. I've been investing heavily into water consumption after reading in depth about this stuff like your article.

@petergleick 90,000 compared to what? What’s the percentage difference?
(I can’t see the whole article, paywall)

@petergleick Would this presumably not also be true of all drinks sold in plastic bottles?
