And here's a few bits of unsolicited advice from this random Mastodon user!

1. First of all, add a bit of info about yourself to your bio! Makes it easier to tell you're not a bot 😊
2. Make a little #introduction post if you haven't yet! You can include some hashtags relevant to your interests to help others find you.
3. Masto doesn't have algorithms that automatically add posts to your feed, so populate your timeline by following anyone who seems interesting. You can always unfollow or mute later – folks don't tend to take that personally around here!
4. You can also follow hashtags! See that “Follow hashtag” button at the top when you browse the #Forkiverse tag? Click on that and all new posts with that tag will appear on your feed. 🙌
5. Whenever you see a good post, reblog it! We call that “boosting a toot” ’round here
6. When posting pictures or videos, adding a quick description in the Alt Text will increase your chances of others boosting that toot!
7. Check out @FediTips, and don't be afraid to ask questions! Anyone who's rude to you about it can get blocked 😌 (or muted, if you're feeling generous).
