Anyone know how much it costs to host a #VPS for a #Matrix #homeserver with all the bells and whistles (Voice/video calls included)? Or how powerful of a PC would I need to host it locally?
Matrix is the closest we've got to a self hosted Discord so I'd like to know my options.

I used this. Simple to set up and has been great so far. I had previously ran matrix off regular docker so switching to helm seemed daunting but really wasn't.

Resourcewise, it entirely depends on your usage patterns; the absolute minimum is 2 cores and 2GB of RAM, but for a public-facing server you'd probably want at least 4 cores and at 16GB of RAM or so.
