@Tutanota i know we got to vouch for our open source software but you just can't game on #Linux unless you run Windows on your Linux. you want to #deMicrosoft people? make the triple A games run on Linux and you'll see people flock
@Baerin @Tutanota im glad you can play the games you play, but I specifically mentionned triple A games. these games are the ones people play most, they're the games that bring the younger people to play together after school. There'd have to be this type of game on Linux for people to start migrating from windows

Most of the games you mentioned are using an incompatible, often invasive, anti cheat system. You can't blame Linux for that, only the developers.

Glad that this 'do it for me' spirit does not represent the linux gaming community at large.
I hear #eldenring runs out of the box, and native steam support is so robust it confused me when I came back to #lutris.
Idk. It's not like running windows or wine is not an emulator in linux is that hard if user has done the install.

@lightbocks tbh I Googled OpenMW. one can always be surprised by what he stumbles upon... so is OpenMW like a really old game with new stuff that keeps being released because people would rather do unpaid labor to maintain it than letting it go?
the world has bigger problems to solve than a dying video game, but without that kind of enthusiasm for unimportant stuff of life there's no point winning at survival anyway. i just wish getting rid of the nazis would be a more popular passtime

I would say that's a pretty thoroughly inaccurate summary of OpenMW.
It's a 3d engine that's free to write anything in.
If you want to talk about games, I'm going to bring a play-together first attitude.
If you want to talk about nazis, start a thread and use a cw. Some of us have post assault traumatic stress and you can really ruin someone's nervous system for the day.
Unless you don't care. Then what are you and why are you on social?
