The shed with its first proper windows.
Picked up for free on freegle. The green paint was left in the old shed by the previous tenants. #Allotment #Gardening #RepairReuseRecycle #Recycle #ReUse

Two sheds brought together as one. A small, square traditional shed has a longer, rectangular extension. The shed is painted cornflower blue. The old shed has a roof that slopes down to the left. The extension has a green roof and slopes forwards and to the right. Rainwater is harvested off both sheds down gutters and into water butts around the building. A wooden framed window painted green has eighteen small glass panes. Two growing beds inside black metal fencing are down to green manures of rye grass and mustard. Bare trees form the backdrop to the shed.

@Broadfork gosh, that shed is perfect. In my brain repurpose = less decisions to make 😊

Those small fences in front, are those repurposed exercise pens for pets?

@kellyromanych Thanks, I like adding newly purposed bits to the shed.

Yes, they are sold as puppy fences. The smaller fence there I only picked up from freegle in the autumn.

The other fence was originally part of Ernie’s play pen in the garden. Somewhere safe (out of mischief) for him to play and toilet as a pup. The fence quickly outgrew its usefulness but it was good for the first few months.

I use them now on the plot to keep some of the wildlife off the veg beds.

A six month old boxer with lanky legs runs around a grassed area surrounded by a black fence. He’s playing with an animal horn treat. The garden beyond has colourful June pink, yellow and red blooms of among others corn marigolds, wallflowers, penstemon, genista and tulips.

@Broadfork playful pup Ernie! I think I'm going to rethink my bed layout to fence it in so Geo can freely dig and romp.

@kellyromanych That’ll be worth doing. We saw where Ernie went and changed up.

He wanders freely in the garden except he’s not allowed in the middle bed because he knocks the flowers about and he’s stuck to it. Occasionally he strays chasing butterfly shadows over it but he’s pretty good.

He has a circuit for his zoomies and patrols up and down the fence. If I’ve got the secateurs out he’ll chop things up to help. Like me, he’s no dig 😂 he’s never liked getting his feet wet or muddy.
