The people behind https://wsocial.eu etc seems to have a session now at January 21st at 12 CET https://www.wedonthavetime.org/events/davos2026#20260121-davos-information-integrity and it seems very much that W Social and We Don't Have Time AB is more or less the same.

I guessing W Social will be based on We Don't Have Time horrible slow plattform. Based on infrastructure from Cloudflare, Google etc.

And skimming through their discussion from Davos on Youtube, https://www.youtube.com/live/JV4z2H7yFIE?si=Qx0IPSDWGmVP0J6i&t=13636 (link now with starting time) , it seems like W Social:

- Won't ban accounts.
- Only «real» names. I guess based in bank id etc.
- Bots are not OK?
- Filtering and moderation using AI.
- They have their primary domain (wsocial.eu) at a Finnish company. (But fonts, tracking, css etc seems to be at whatever)

RE: https://flipboard.social/@TechDesk/115935236883890857

@aslakr it's looking like they could be using Bluesky's code for this based on "leaked screenshots" and there being a PDS at https://pds-prod.wsocial.eu/

Don't know how that will work with their ID and real name requirements. One option would be that it is entirely separate but one of the supposed screenshots seems to show a @verge post and a post by @queerash.wsocial.eu (same as queerash.bsky.social) from Bluesky with same comment/boost/like counts.

In theory, that means using their ATProto protocol too. Making wsocial.eu much less horrific than it looks from @aslakr's description, since people will be able to interact with accounts there without using their questionable infrastructure. Question is, are they running a Relay, and maybe an AppView, or just hosting PDS?

@strypey @aslakr well it doesn't seem like just PDS since their goals would not be possible with that and they already run the web app publicly but beyond that, who knows. We don't even know how far along they really are in development so what is there now might not represent the eventual vision.

I guess W Social AB is not related to the Government of Catalonia's wSocial https://isocial.cat/en/wsocial-a-platform-that-integrates-artificial-intelligence-to-improve-social-services-intervention/

> wSocial, a platform that integrates artificial intelligence to improve social services intervention

@giltvedt Jeg tror du kan forsøke å lage en https://app.wedonthavetime.org/ eller bare romstere på nettsidene for å få en opplevelse av hvordan programvaren fungerer. Ganske så treigt og ikke mye digital suverenitet å spore.
