@ascentale @bikenite
Does anyone have experience plowing snow using a bicycle? The best source of inspiration I've found is this article, but it doesn't have detailed build instructions: https://flatbike.com/blogs/cyclist/snow-plow-bike

I have a frontloader cargo bike that seems like it would be ideal to me, the Riese and Müller Load4 75 Vario: https://www.cyclingelectric.com/reviews/riese-and-muller-load4-75-vario-reviewed

But I imagine lowering and raising a plow to be mechanically complex and finicky, and I would love tips.

Perhaps adapting a Canadian style push, slide, and tip shovel might work …

@skyfaller @ascentale @bikenite I've tried something similar. Among the things I found were that I needed reverse, because I'd get stuck with snow load, so I leaned towards fixed gear, and yeah hitting even a joint in a concrete sidewalk would completely stop me. I think having a thick flexible rubber lip on the bottom of the blade would have helped. I also made a raise/lower plow setup once and it kept freezing and jamming, very frustrating.

@skyfaller @ascentale @bikenite oh maybe this is obvious but if you put the blade at an angle it does help with it jamming against straight concrete joints but still sometimes catches on cracks.
I thought about putting little wheels on the plow so it would track the ground without me having to mess with it but based on how often the raise/lower mechanism got frozen and filled with snow, I dunno if that would actually work.

@skyfaller @ascentale @bikenite: I think we had that before at BikeNite. *searching* Oh, no, it was outside BikeNite: https://mastodon.online/@BrentToderian/109592227074586334
