@ai6yr I wonder how many areas will lose cell service because cell towers lose power and/or have too much ice.

@ai6yr @mappingsupport This was an issue for us post Helene, well outside the major disaster area. Power was out long enough that generators for cell infrastructure ran out of fuel.
If that ice prediction holds... it is going to be an off-the-charts power outage across multiple states.
Could be 1/2" to over 1" of ice hanging on trees, for miles. That will destroy trees by the train load.
What could help is if the Arctic air sinks further south and turns that into snow.
