Initially developed and used by studios Ghibli (under the name Toonz) and Dwango (which adapted it, used it for its own needs and freed it), it is now used by major studios for short and feature films, and series. It integrates the complete design chain for import, drawing, animation and effects, and can be extended via plugins. Tahoma2D brings to its predecessors simplified project management, a streamlined workspace, a status bar with tips for novices, style set management, a perspective grid tool, a symmetry tool, referenced fills, timeline folders, live clipping masks, and DSLR camera support.
