I saw @yivi_privacybydesign in #Fdroid the other day and it's got me interested!
By using free IBM research "Idemix" (Identity Mixer) it allows selective data transfer, including zero-knowledge proofs (e.g. that you are over 18 without revealing age.)
Data storage is local only. Initial app development from Radboud Uni Nijmegen, a foundation now owns the brand, and a company continues development...

"Yivi is a precursor wallet app for digital identities that will be introduced in the European Union, from 2026 onwards. The European Commission got inspiration, for these wallet apps, by Yivi’s approach to privacy-friendly proportional authentication with attributes. Yivi’s open source character and decentralised architecture, however, are not (yet) mandatory in European plans."
@yivi_privacybydesign ho-hum... I installed and at one point during setup I get "something went wrong" without further detail.
Will keep installed and see if a future update fixes that.
