“Everybody is so fed up with #Labour’s only strategy being ‘vote Labour to keep the Tories out’, and now it’s ‘vote Labour to keep Reform out’,” Spencer tells me. “It’s like: how about you actually just do something to make people vote for you?” -- #Green party candidate Hannah Spencer in the Gorton and Denton by-election.

She has a point.

Starmer has little to offer voters of either right or left in Gorton and Denton. That’s why he’s facing a perfect storm | Owen Jones

The Greens are buoyant as Labour struggles. After shredding any semblance of a progressive agenda, fear of Reform is all the PM’s party has left, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

@simon_brooke
vote Labour to keep the Tories out
vote Labour to keep Reform out
vote Labour to keep

whatever I type there, Nazis, Demons, it just sounds like I'm saying Reform again

Labour are spent. they had their shot. they got incredibly lucky. not Corbyn numbers but enough to win

Starmer was something people could project into. it got him into power, but now he's there he's empty, devoid of any real belief or talent.

a liberal, he just compromises with fascists ignorant of the fact they will never return the favor and rapidly destroy the democratic status quo he believes immovable

everyone left of center must now throw their weight behind Greens to defeat Reform, or possibly - in a few years - a resurgent Tory party

but people won't forgive Labour and Labour voters need to wake up

Labour is dead, at least to under 30s, who will age and remember betrayal
