@amilatled@snac.la10cy.net could you please tell more about migration? did you moved the whole basedir with tar or copied a few files from user?

i'm thinking how to make smallest possible backups...

I copied the complete basedir for snac, packed it before as .tgz archive. worked pretty nice 😊 Some days ago i remember a post in my timeline from @grunfink@comam.es where he wrote, that he also just back up the basedir from snac during runtime.
On the old system in the datacenter, I did exactly this too, with borgbackup.
For the migration i shut the instance down, packed and copied - but this was just to be extra sure, everything is onboard.
I would think, just setup a nice daily tar or rsync job, and you should be good 😊

Hello from #snac , running on an old Pentium 3 900 MHz system with 512MB of RAM and 40GB 5400RPM HDD with #OpenBSD as operating system

This is very slow. And that's not caused by the old CPU. Hopefully a new ssd + ide>sata adapter will arrive soon.

Messy working table with an old 4:3 lcd display and a white / blue bordered pc case from ~2000 , medion lifetec tower with pentium iii. the screen shows jwm window manager with three terminals open, one large on the left with the daemon log showing the snac log, then two smaller ones on the right side, the top showing fastfetch with ascii fish and under that the terminal is running htop showing system stats like cpu and ram usage , running processes

Lol, after a reboot and posting something before the reboot, it took 40 Minutes (!!) for the machine to proccess all requests. Harddrive was without interruption cooking and cooking.
Now it seems everything is proccessed and now the drive is kinda quite. Only every couple seconds i hear "wrp...cr..kk...crkrkr.........wr.......tk....."
Unless now, because I am posting something and the harddrive will play its song again
