I'm happy that my #devRant friends are moving from Shitcord to Stoat (a. k. a. Revolt). Wind to their sails! 
Abandoned the place mostly because of the ads in the app. Sure, I needed a break from the group chats as well, but I feel like joining this migration with them and resume communicating.

OK, you know what? Moving from #Discord to #Stoat, as a community that now wants a self-hosted solution, is a tall order.
Sure, you can self-host your own instance ("master server"), but good luck compiling required clients just to get them to connect to it. If you skip this step, you only have official apps that support stoat.chat central instance.
And even if you come around building desktop and Android apps for your community, it's one more manual guide to write and execute. Also, consider that Android app was made early access only 3 days ago.
Is this worth it? I can't tell. Just take into account that such thing is happening right now with the former #Revolt.
