@cybervegan @JenJen @ozoned They tried that on me but I'm Dutch, and the strength of the licorice in the picture was super easy for me to handle. I destroyed my internal organs with salmiak powder as a child.

@reinderdijkhuis @JenJen @ozoned It's the ammonia flavour that gets me. Not a big fan of liquorice but I can handle the English variety.

@JenJen I love giving non-scandinavians scandinavian licorice candy, the reactions are always priceless.

@hazelnot The thing that throws people off-guard about scandinavian licorice is that a lot of it is salty because it's flavoured with sal ammoniac, which has a bit of a kick to it. Tyrkisk Peber as depicted in the thumbnail also has a bit of actual peppercorn flavour to it, which is definitely not a flavour people expect in candy.
