@JenJen @ozoned That's a mean thing to do, lol. I worked for a Finnish company about 25 years ago, and the Finns always used to bring this over and offer it round to poor unsuspecting locals. Yes, I was one of the victims.

@cybervegan @JenJen @ozoned They tried that on me but I'm Dutch, and the strength of the licorice in the picture was super easy for me to handle. I destroyed my internal organs with salmiak powder as a child.

@hazelnot The thing that throws people off-guard about scandinavian licorice is that a lot of it is salty because it's flavoured with sal ammoniac, which has a bit of a kick to it. Tyrkisk Peber as depicted in the thumbnail also has a bit of actual peppercorn flavour to it, which is definitely not a flavour people expect in candy.
