@_elena @sturmsucht maybe you should read all the reactions of the official graphenos account here on Mastodon about other companies and FOSS projects. I do not think they want a European partner at all 😬😅

This had nothing todo with a kind of war, but it has todo with respect for other FOSS projects. The way they communicate can be called very strange.
@_elena I really wish one day we have the Fairphone running GrapheneOS.

@michaelmarek @_elena yes, and less safe than GrapheneOS. Still a good start if you have a by GrapheneOS unsupported devices. iodeOS is also a good alternative and a bit better in degoogling. But let's not start this flamewar
@sturmsucht Ich bin mir gerade nicht sicher, ob das eine gute Nachricht ist oder nicht. Konkret frage ich mich, ob das Motorola tatsächlich eine Verbesserung darstellt oder eher einen Kompromiss in Sachen Sicherheit darstellt.
@NebulaTide denke nicht, dass GrapheneOS hier einen Abstrich in Sachen Sicherheit macht.
@sturmsucht Bevor ich mir aktuell extra Hardware für ein Custom ROM zulege, würde ich lieber erst abwarten, ob Google seine Drohung wegen Android umsetzt. Falls ja, werden die Custom ROMs ganz schnell verwundbar sein, weil sie keine aktuellen Patches mehr bekommen.
Es ist ja nicht so, dass Motorola günstige Geräte verkauft.

@m1rk0 ich kenne die Hintergründe. Ich hab auch nur gerepostet, dass Motorola der lange geheimgehaltene Partner für GrapheneOS ist.
Natürlich kaufe ich jetzt nicht direkt ein Motorola solange mein Pixel noch geht. Mal gucken auf welchen Geräten es dann tatsächlich läuft und wann. Das ist ja noch nirgends veröffentlicht.
Versteh nur nicht warum alle erst maulen, weils nur auf Google läuft und jetzt weil es auch noch auf Motorola läuft. Hätte auch lieber ein Fairphone mit GrapheneOS.
