Regarding #Discord #FOSS alternatives:

What are you folks using instead?

#Stoat has no screensharing atm and noise cancellation for voice chat is meh.

#Fluxer has a broken website with a lot of 404 links.

#ElementChat has screensharing and somewhat okay voice chat + noise cancellation, but no easy push-to-talk in the browser 馃

#selfhosted #homelab

@graves501 I think, given time, Stoat and Fluxer might both implement Jitsi integration for voice and video, like Zulip has. Doesn't help if you need it now though.

@doqunbop Interesting. Yeah currently we're using Element Chat for screenshare + voice chat. It would be fine for my usecase if the noise cancellation would be better + push-to-talk would be implemented properly.

@graves501 Our small group switched to Matrix for text and TeamSpeak for voice. There's no need for us to have everything in one application that can fuck you like Discord did.

@RTheren

TeamSpeak is still the gold standard for me when it comes to voice chat. I don't need a chat, only screensharing+voice chat. Ideally FOSS and selfhostable would be the best option. Matrix/Element has horrible UX and will take years to get decent sadly.
