So I need to have surgery. I have Meralgia paresthetica which causes numbness, pain, soreness, etc in my thighs. So the doctor is going to do surgery to snip the nerves so I don't feel anything anymore. It's fairly common actually.
Just got the estimate. For a 2 hour surgery the total is $28,650.87. The insurance covers $19,617.82. I have to pay $2,156.95. I'm very fortunate that I can afford the expense. But this whole system is just not sustainable. Absolutely crazy amount to not be in pain constantly.
