There's a really sweet interview with @NorcalGma2 at:

It's nice how @ozoned is emphasising community with these Fireside Fedi interviews 🙂
Did you know that you can follow all Fireside Fedi #podcast episodes directly from where you're reading this post? Just follow @firesidefedi@tubefree.org like you would any other user and you never have to leave your platform of choice! #fedi #fediverse #peopleOverPlatforms #vodcast #fedicast #FsFd #FiresideFedi #chat #peertube #mastodon #vods
#FediForum2026 is coming up in April, 28th - 30th. If you don't know what #FediForum is, it's an online #unconference where we all get together, talk about what projects folks are working on, meet each other, etc. I've been to two of them last year and I've met so many fantastic folks there.
What other #conference are people going to that is related to the #Fediverse ?
I know #Fedicon is sometime later this year. I've already missed #FOSDEM but that'll come around again, next February I think?
Inkwell - a multi-tenant long-form writing platform for the fediverse (open source, FEP-b2b8)
Wanted to share something with this community and see if it’s useful to anyone. Inkwell (inkwell.social) is an open source, multi-tenant social journaling platform built on ActivityPub. The goal is to fill the long-form writing gap in the fediverse in a way that’s accessible to non-technical users, not just developers who can spin up their own instance of WriteFreely or Ghost.
What it does: users sign up, write journal entries or articles, and those posts federate as Article objects per FEP-b2b8 with preview Notes so they render cleanly in Mastodon and other microblogging clients. You get a title, excerpt, and link rather than a decontextualized URL. Follows, boosts, and likes all work bidirectionally with Mastodon.
It’s ad-free, algorithm-free, and the code is open source on GitHub (github.com/stantondev/inkwell). The hosted instance is at inkwell.social if you want to try it, or you can self-host your own.
Some things that might interest this community: ActivityPub federation with HTTP signature verification, Stamps (emotional reactions) instead of generic likes, a tipping system called Postage for supporting writers, newsletter delivery, custom profile themes, and data import from other platforms. Currently working on improving comment edit propagation and post scope handling for better fediverse compatibility based on community feedback.
Would love to hear thoughts, especially from anyone who’s been looking for a long-form option in the fediverse or anyone interested in running their own instance. What’s working, what’s missing, what would make this more useful to the ecosystem?

Good day all!
Are there any of you out there that have any kind of stories about moving communities onto the Fediverse?
Whether that be you moved your family, you moved your friends, you moved your church.
Anyone out there have a success story?
If so, what worked for you? What didn't work for you?
I'd LOVE to hear from you, as our strength is all of us together. Let's all learn from each other!
Is anyone attempting to start a business where you attempt to sell the Fediverse to places?
UPDATE: https://hub.vocalcat.com is open for public registration.

I’m building a new tool and looking for volunteers to test it! A #fediverse linktree.
It’s designed for two types of people:
Normies / newcomers – Think of it like a free, privacy-respecting Linktree. No trackers, no ads. But here's the cool part: it's a Trojan horse for the fediverse. Your profile link is itself an ActivityPub actor. That means people can interact with it directly in the fediverse, and it encourages exploration of open platforms.
Fediverse users, If you have multiple accounts (#Mastodon, #Pixelfed, Loops, a federated blog…), you know the struggle: sometimes you just want one persona to follow. This tool gives you that. It doesn’t post on its own (read-only), but it boosts all your other accounts and even has its own #ActivityPub inbox. PLUS it can receive and show your badges issued by @badgefed !
Interested in testing? Right now it only supports mastodon/gotosocial authentication, so if you have a mastodon or gotosocial account register a new account.

UPDATE: I am doing load testing at this point, if many people sign-up expect some unavailability moments. Thanks for your patience, I want to discover the limits of the stack.
I am an unpaid volunteer running 5 websites and 5 accounts helping people use Mastodon and the wider Fediverse. I pay their bills every month.
If you want to help these sites & accounts keep going, you can buy me a coffee:

All support greatly appreciated! 🙂

@PalePimp@poa.st @boilingsteam@mastodon.cloud I could definitely see a path there. That scares the hell out of me and I hope you're wrong. But definitely possible. Thank you for sharing.
@boilingsteam@mastodon.cloud it'll be interesting to see how that's supposed to work. I'm not in NY so I don't fall under those laws. But I can just grab a new OS from somewhere else as I run Linux and GrapheneOS. Any third party that houses that info will be a MASSIVE target for hackers. I think these things are years away from being implemented and practical. Just because a law exists, doesn't mean it's enforceable. It'll definitely be interesting to watch. And states will be sued and it'll take years to move through courts as this is entirely new ground. So we'll have to see how they're classifying the internet and how they justify it.
I'll say this though, I'm against this kind of thing personally, but I think all of these people are attempting g to do anything they can to dig us out of the current pit we're in. The road to hell is paved with good intentions though.
@PalePimp@poa.st @boilingsteam@mastodon.cloud definitely is a slippery slope. But if I run my own and you run your own, plus with the end to end encryption for DMs in the works, they'd need more than just these laws to get access to either of our servers. And anything public In post, well it's public.
@ozoned its very easy to pass changes once the first step is taken. You start with v1, people dont complain because there are still some workarounds and give it a few years and you won't notice they tight things up progressively and by that time it will be too late.
@boilingsteam@mastodon.cloud potentially. I'm an idealist and I'm very biased in favor of the Fediverse, but I have a difficult time believing they'd want to enforce this against my running my own for my own family, let alone them actually being able to enforce this. It absolutely could impact big open platforms like mastodon.social or even my own tubefree.org. but this is a reaction to big tech getting us into this position and finding ways to reduce their power.
