After 15 months of hard work, my dad has finished this impressive model of Minas Tirith! It is 1.4 m high and entirely hand-made out of wood. One of the most time-consuming parts was manually engraving the bricks on all walls and buildings, but this was key to properly convey the huge size of the city. na hora de compilar programas grandes, dá pra compilar cada módulo separadamente, cada um rodando num processador e consumindo um tanto da memória

dá pra compilar com menos memória? dá, mas aí não dá pra usar todos os processadores e demora bem mais

esse é o caso de uso com o qual eu estou mais familiarizado

mas sei também que hoje em dia há modelos de LLMs que ocupam uma brutalidade de memória, e aí o céu é o limite. se não couber tudo na memória, eles não andam.

I bought my first Apricot PC about three years ago, when I realised I wanted an 8086-based computer. At the time, I knew nothing about it and simply bought it because it looked rad and the price was low. I had no idea that it was not IBM PC-compatible, and that there were very few programs available for it.

I have been on a quest to get a modern-ish word processor and spreadsheet program for it ever since. Which eventually made me "port" Windows 2 on it. In this post, I share the story of the port. Many photos inside!
