#3GoodThings
1. I finally found our mortgage holder! Got my mom's Giftmas present put toward the principal.
2. Making pizza.
3. Mom's physical therapy is going okay, but she's upset by how sore she is. She went from not doing much outside at all to exercising every day. Hopefully not sore enough that she stops.
Stepping out the front door and seeing snow still covering the ground here in Virginia. It feels surreal—quiet, bright, and almost borrowed from somewhere farther north.
Thinking about Dad as this storm moved through. He passed while it was still underway. Being from Michigan, snow never surprised him—but Virginia snow usually disappears so quickly that he was always a little amused by it.
Except this time it didn’t. Nearly two weeks later, the snow is still here, the cold holding on. It feels like a pause that fits these days. And it brings a quiet awareness that I’m now between two homes—Michigan and Virginia—and neither quite feels like home without Dad. Still, I know I need to find my way forward here, to build a new sense of comfort in Virginia, carrying him with me in spirit.

1. It’s snowing here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and there’s still snow on the ground.
2. Thankful for an all-wheel drive to get through the snow to the closed gate to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
3. Though I couldn’t go further up the Parkway with the camera, I was happy with the view of the sign and the snow falling.

1. Made four small stoneware bowls this morning to fit 6 ounces of soup for the upcoming Empty Bowls fundraiser in Detroit. I'll choose the best two to submit.
2. My husband made a delicious batch of Tuna Mayo Rice bowls. It's a simple recipe with ingredients that we always have on hand. Served in some of my handmade bowls. (photo attached).
3. Chest x-ray reveals that I don't have pneumonia. Just a bronchial infection. I'm hoping that the new meds help.
1. Sneaky Art sketching.
2. Chatting with kiddo and hubby at dinner and just really feeling connected.
3. Friends being really cool about my art and wanting me to do little sketches of them at the next dungeon during scenes.

• Though I’ve been a bookkeeper before, now that I’m a “business” (on 1099—for USians who know what that’s about), it’s a whole ‘nother ballgame to see firsthand what a difference it makes to count expenses, bringing what I owe (federally, at least, with state TBD) way down. No idea how I would have come up with $1,588, but $12 I can do!
• Frogs have been singing their hearts out the past few nights.
• Even with working on taxes, it’s been a nice chill couple of days of recovery after a fun but uber-social night.

#3GoodThings (words I [re] learned after [re]reading Tom McCarthy's Remainder, which is all about repetition, among other things, and one of my favorite novels):
1. Runnel
2. Fulgurate
3. Dehiscence

Three good things this day.
1. Re-reading an old favourite story.
2. Spooky Men's Chorale 🎶
3. Chocolate.
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things." - Philippians 4:8
I have been neglecting my #3GoodThings practice! Here's today:
1. Payment dropped for some work I did in January which is gonna cover business expenses for the month, which gives me a ton of room to be flexible.
2. I'm creating a course I'm really excited about!
3. I am not in the Epstein files.
So here's my #3GoodThings @3goodthings:
1) Yay, I'm not the only person in the world who takes the time to report stuff like this.
2) The city's web app exceeded minimum required functionality by asking me whether the already-submitted report was what I had come there to submit.
3) The web app also exceeded minimum required functionality by allowing me to follow the already submitted report. (3/3)
