This colourful British Coastal Birds garland is made of eleven elements including Atlantic Puffin, Common Gull, Curlew, Little Tern, Ringed Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, bucket and spade, beach huts, boats and thrift. The pieces vary in size between approximately 12 x 12cm for the birds, to 7 x 7cm for the small boat. It is printed on 350gsm uncoated card.

Tides determine when access to this coastal area in Redwood National and State Parks is possible. With the recent full moon, sand has been carried quite a ways up the beach, with some even being deposited on top of the large pieces of driftwood near the back of the beach (foreground). In the background, lines of breaking waves approach the shore. In the center, a large near-shore rock stands out against the blue sky. Wave-like patterns appear on the driftwood in the foreground, which might suggest that this is a piece of curly redwood.
