A recent article from the Hill Times (unfortunately behind a paywall) had this headline: U.S. pressures Canada to roll back on data sovereignty, a high-priority issue in CUSMA renegotiation.
Not a surprise - in November the USA issued a new National Security Strategy that asserts that future agreements with nations “dependent” on the U.S., must require “sole-source contracts for (U.S.) companies.”
No room for Canadian #DigitalSovereignty.
