@dgodon That's a great start toward billionaire-free political independence.
@mousey Yeah, I wish she would move here, but I'm not sure she knows much about what Mastodon is. I think she only agreed to enable it because some other local folks she knows have done so.
@dgodon Xitter/Meta/LinkedIn, et al. are giant trees, users are simply leaves enriching a billionaire trunk.
#Fediverse is more of a new-growth forest. Lots of biodiversity, and burgeoning communities living together.
It takes a long long time to grow a forest, compared to a tree. It's OK if politicians take their time understanding #fedi, we'll still thrive together over time.
#Politicians who figure this out sooner than later will have stronger roots and broader community ties for longer.
