That's it.
Cancelled my Nitro subscription (bye bye paying $4, because they never raised prices for already subscribed), and moved all the people I was still talking to there to Matrix.
Now Discord is only for non-private stuff, like official game servers and FOSS projects servers, basically as support hotline.
All my personal, private talks are now on E2EE channels - Matrix for friends, Messenger for family.
Free at last

@leniwcowaty Why did you have a Nitro subscription to begin with? Genuinely asking, since I've never seen a reason for myself to do so. I only use Discord for voice chat, but Discord as a platform just got more enshitified over the years...
@graves501 I originally needed it purely for bigger files and longer messages, I was playing TTRPGs I played with friends. Then I just... Never canceled. They never raised the price, so I chucked it as "cheap enough so that might as well keep it"
Come to think of it, in total I gave them a tad under 270 USD over the years
@leniwcowaty Yeah, subscriptions add up quickly, it's crazy how it's so normal for most people. Good for you that you got away from it.
