I'm Sophie. I run a digital ops consultancy from the south of France, working with values-led businesses.
I'm in the process of leaving Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. I got tired of building on platforms that sell our data, gut safety systems to please politicians, and treat people as products.
Still figuring it all out. Would love to connect.

I just recently made the change too!
I mainly did it to get rid of being fed short form content but the lack data being sold is a huge plus in my opinion.

@amblergee thank you! I wouldn't say brave, more that my conscience just couldn't keep up with the mental gymnastics any more. I was literally posting about closing my Amazon accounts on Facebook. The irony of announcing your exit from one billionaire's platform on another billionaire's platform was the final nudge I needed. Really glad to be here!

@sophiekaz Hi Sophie! Glad to meet you. I’m Doug, I live in Southern Ontario, Canada, about a 1 h drive west of Toronto. I’m a safety engineer, and I’ve been living and working here since the 1990s. I moved to Mastodon in November 2022.
I’m happily married for more than 30 years, love dogs and am currently staff to an 18 month old toy poodle. Love fast cars and motorcycles, hiking canoeing and camping.
I’m looking forward to seeing your posts!

An 18-month-old toy poodle must keep you on your toes. I've got a Saluki, so I understand being "staff" to a dog rather than the other way around :)
