So I need to have surgery. I have Meralgia paresthetica which causes numbness, pain, soreness, etc in my thighs. So the doctor is going to do surgery to snip the nerves so I don't feel anything anymore. It's fairly common actually.

Just got the estimate. For a 2 hour surgery the total is $28,650.87. The insurance covers $19,617.82. I have to pay $2,156.95. I'm very fortunate that I can afford the expense. But this whole system is just not sustainable. Absolutely crazy amount to not be in pain constantly.

Node.JS and I are NOT friends. HOWEVER ... there's a docker container thankfully. But I'm checking with Julian to find out the recommended install method.

This is why I NEVER got into webdev. I'd ask friends how to make anything and the answer was always

"Use this framework for X and use this other framework for Y."

Me: "What about Z?"

Them: "Oh you need 10 more frameworks for that! SEE! IT'S EASY!"

This is an interesting question. They're two completely separate software stacks. NodeBB is for federated forum servers. While Bonfire is more a roll your own community social network server. What would you imagine this looks like? What would be your end goal with a plugin in Bonfire? Not judging at all. It sounds like an interesting idea to be sure. 😊 And you have the folks that could work together to make something happen if there's an idea there.
