Hey Tacomans! Check out this deal for 12% off your grocery bill at our locally owned and operated Stadium Thiftway! I am guessing its related to the Seahawks Superbowl appearances this Sunday.
I love how the @lfnw rotate the featured speakers randomly every few minutes from their homepage. https://www.linuxfestnorthwest.org/
Sometimes I catch myself sometimes don't.
Part of me wanted to share more pics of the dense cloudy fog permeating the forest, but these smiling faces were just too much!
Took this photo on January 10th.
Nothing has changed. 💔
Sending hugs to everyone. It's tough right now, but you aren't alone. ❤️
Keep documenting. Keep creating.

Second up there's a local account of how the ICE detainment and rapid response occurred.
This gives an idea how ICE is behaving and why its so important to develop a broad base of community rapid response teams to mitigate some of the harms ICE is inflicting in the region.
Thx @MHowell for the links!

In the comments @MHowell provided some local links first up for the legal defense of the father, Ivan Guzman, whose toddler was abandoned by ICE in Shoreline WA.
Initial reports indicated Ivan has been imprisoned in Tacoma's ICE detention center.

For the last two days there have been MASSIVE rapid protests in Seattle.
On the buses and trains I keep hearing the same conversation over and over as two friends run into each other on transit heading to the protests: "oh well this is my second protest ever, my first one was last week".
There's a TON of energy out there, just a question of finding the right ways to keep the pressure up on ICE locally.

I've heard a few local stories also from Shoreline of ICE goons backing down under the simplest of resistance... just recording them and telling them to stop.
Rapid response protests don't work 100% of the time but they do work SOME of the time.
The real challenge of melting ICE in the region isn't one of politicians, cops or even veteran activists saving us... it's a question of whether we can ALL build communities that are willing to materially support their neighbors.
