I depend on donations to help me afford to replace my recumbent cycle. This is the longest time in my adult life that I have not owned any cycle at all and thus have been unable to ride or transport myself on my own schedule. Random project ahoy! Been given an old style e-bike (that frankly looks unridden!). Battery locked in frame and decharged to below where the BMS would allow for recharge. So some #lockpicking and then a slow 100ma charge to warm each cell back up. It's now charging and balancing from the charger (under careful monitoring). Let's see if the bike runs tommorow! #BikeTooter
There was a small community bike ride yesterday in London, Ontario to honour the memory of Alex Pretti who was murdered by ICE in Minneapolis. It was minus 11 degrees before windchill and organized on very short notice but all who turned out were happy to be there. (My toes eventually forgave me.)

Alex was a cyclist who attended several group rides with Angry Catfish bike shop in Minneapolis. He was murdered by ICE on January 24th, 2026. This ride celebrates his memory.
Today's temperature was a high of 18F, but that didn't stop what I estimate to be thousands of cyclists from participating in a multi-hour bike ride through south Minneapolis.
