Sometimes I really wish I had an official diagnosis of #autism. I know that self diagnosis is valid, and I know that I am #ActuallyAutistic but Impostor Syndrome is real.

I've spent all morning watching YouTube videos with titles like "10 signs you might be autistic!" even though I know all of this very well.

It is just nice sometimes to hear someone describe me while trying to describe an autistic person. *sigh*

Got a new phone, 99% the same as my old one, spent 2 days messing with settings, deleting bloat, installing apps and getting the way I like it. I put the damn SIM card in and the homescreen goes apeshit on me. Spent almost 1.5 hours and ended up having to reset all settings now my keyboard is flashing all over the place and everything's not right and either my #ADHD or my #Autism is freaking out and screaming

Just five days to Online Autscape 2026!

The first day, evening of February 6th, will be all about autistic people and organisations learning and developing in changing online spaces.

👉Event opened by Martijn Dekker, Acting Chair of the Autscape Organisation.

👉Daniel Grahn, Chair of the Swedish association Organiserade Autister (Organised Autistics), who grew up in the emerging online environment and watched it change from what it was to what it is today, talks about his experiences and observations of how the changes have influenced autistic people's engagement in online spaces.

👉Raquel Lebre from Portugal will reflect on what it means to work inside an intentionally autistic-first online space, from the perspective of an autistic employee, exploring how everyday organisational choices shape whether online work supports autistic participation or quietly reproduces neurotypical norms.

👉Luis, an autistic advocate and community organiser, will lead a discussion on how building autism communities can positively support autistic individuals by creating inclusive, peer-led spaces grounded in lived experience. Join in to share your thoughts!

I'm ADHD as well as autistic, so that might mean I don't have the same relationship to music as other autistic people. But what originally got me into listening to music was the words, not the beats. I pretty much ignored both beats and melody at first, and couldn't stand listening to instrumental music. I think it was when I started smoking cannabis that I learned to hear and appreciate those.

I haven't seen this particular video for years, not since I lost my link to it. So I was very glad it popped up in my feed today. It remains one of the most powerful representations of what it can mean, at least for this autistic, to be non-speaking. It is essentially told in two halves, using her language and ours and whilst she is sadly no-longer with us, this remains as a hell of a legacy and almost a must-see for autistics in my opinion.
