In general I try not to, but it happens. Fortunately, my #WIP has defined times/dates when events happen, so I’ll know when to slot in a chapter. That leaves the hard part of a good transition into something that ma have been written a while ago

I write in the order that I think of it. Most of the narrative is written in the order that it happens. Asides, digressions and red herrings happen when my brain goes off in some other direction.

I usually have a summary of the story written before I start writing actual scenes, so I always have a general idea of what order everything will go in.

I don't intentionally write out of order, but sometimes as I write I'll hit a point where I'm not clear on how a scene should go. So I'll write scene one, the put in a note 'scene two goes here, make sure x happens, then write scene three, and when I get to the end I go back to the beginning and go through again expanding all those notes into proper scenes.

Yes! I am mostly writing short fiction, but I'm also looking to stitch some of it together, so, almost by definition, it's scrambled. I am a believer in writing where your motivation is, and then assembling a narrative. But that is just my emerging process.

Who in your book is most like a real person you've loved irl?

The closest I've come to this is an antagonist based off an ex. Though not exactly.

I can't think of any other characters who qualify. There is an antagonist named after my sister who is fierce, devoted to her cause, and who would do anything to protect those she cares about. These are all qualities my sister has, but putting them in a "villain" with a version of her name was something I knew would amuse her.
